New
Light Christian Church was born from the vision of Rick Danner
for an intentionally multi-ethnic inner city church where,
through strong Bible-based teaching, fellowship, healing, and
restoration would provide a basis for meeting the spiritual,
emotional and physical needs of each person and each family.
In October of 1992, with support from Overlake Christian Church,
that vision became a reality as New Light began weekly worship
and youth services in the Central District of Seattle, WA.
meeting at Washington Middle School. From there we moved to The
Union Gospel Outreach Center where we worshiped for the next 2
1/2 years until we were able to find our own building. New Light
is now worshipping in their new sanctuary at 4620 S. Findlay St.
- Seattle, WA 98118.
Our Beliefs:
New Light Christian Church is a non-denominational, independent
Church and has strong affiliations with many churches in the
Seattle area
New Light Christian Church believes that the Bible is the Holy
Inspired Word of God, without error. The Holy Bible teaches that
by nature, man is a sinner from birth, and is spiritually
separated from God. (Romans 3:23)
New Light Christian Church believes that the Holy Scriptures
teach that there is one God, eternally existing in three
persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
All possess the characteristics of Deity. God’s Son, Jesus
Christ, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless and perfect life
and died on a cross in payment for man’s sins. He was raised
from the dead on the third day and He is coming back again. I
Thessalonians 4)
New Light Christian Church believes that salvation is a free
gift. (Ephesians 2:8,9)
It is given by God’s grace and received by faith. The Holy Bible
teaches that water baptism by immersion is symbolic of the
believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial and
resurrection. Christ is the source of the believer’s salvation.
(I Corinthians 15:1-5)
New Light Christian Church believes that the church is the
"Bride of Christ" and the Body of Christ. The local church is
governed by elders. (I Timothy 3)
The purpose of the church is to fulfill the last command to
"…make disciples of all people." (Matthew 28)
New Light Christian Church believes that the Holy Spirit teaches
that all Christians are given, by the Lord, spiritual gifts
which enable them to serve in the local church. (Ephesians
4:11-16)
New Light Christian Church believes that as Christians, we
should be concerned with the total person. Thus, New Light
Christian Church is committed to addressing the social and
physical needs of people as well as the spiritual.
