New Light Christian Church (NLCC) is a non-denominational, multi-ethnic, inner city church whose mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ, teach them to obey His commandments, and see lives changed. As we move into the future, New Light hopes to grow our membership and expand our influence in the local community.

New Light is seeking a Spirit filled preacher/teacher of God’s Word for the position of Senior Pastor following the retirement of our long-term Senior Pastor. Leadership and relationship building skills, mentoring of ministry leaders and guiding the spiritual growth of the congregation are also desired.

The Senior Pastor is accountable to the Board of Elders and leads worship, strategic planning, and staff supervision; guides ministry leaders and champions collaborative ministries. As a member of the Board of Elders, the Senior Pastor participates in oversight of the church budget and use of the church building.

Our church community worships in the historic Columbia City neighborhood in Seattle. We have a committed core group in a diverse congregation averaging roughly 100 attendees during Sunday morning services. Our volunteer-lead ministries include: youth, children, women, men, greeters, hospitality, marriage, new members, outreach, ushers and aid & assistance.

To qualify, applicants must be a licensed or ordained Christian minister who holds, at a minimum, an Associate’s degree from an accredited Bible college, seminary or university and a minimum of ten (10) years of pastoral experience as either a senior or associate pastor. It is highly desired that applicants have a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited Bible college, seminary or university and either: three (3) years as a senior pastor, or five (5) years as an associate pastor, or seven (7) years in church leadership ministry work. Salary and benefits are negotiable relative to education and experience.
